Sixt Fer-a-Cheval is a small village located a few kilometres up the valley from Samoëns. It has a bar, a couple of restaurants and is situated at the end of one of the most famous ski runs in the area. The Cascades ski run is a 14km picturesque blue run which starts at Flaine and descends to the valley floor at Sixt. Although there is currently no direct uplift back to Flaine from the village, there is a ski bus to the Samoëns télécabine that gives access to Samoëns 1600 and Flaine.
