Chalet d'Alpage is situated at 1500m on a NE facing slope, this makes it the snowiest chalet we have for sale! It is situated above the small independent ski area of Praz de Lys - Sommand. This is a small ski area with a range of slopes and some very good XC skiing. It can be reached in just over an hour from Geneva airport. Les Gets is 30 minutes drive away. Believe it or not the Tour du France came through in 2003.
In the summer the chalet has road access. It is in a beautiful, quiet position with incomparable views.
Access is in the winter is an interesting challenge. You may either:
1. Take the Planey button lift which terminates just above the chalet. Be warned the slope that leads down from the lift s a black slope! There is an easier descent via the road.
2. Snowshoe up the snow covered summer road, this will take about 15 minutes.
3. Take a skidoo up to the chalet.
The chalet has a floor area of 95m2 and can sleep 6/7 people in 3 bedrooms, 2 double beds, 2 single beds and a pull out bed. Each bedroom has an electric heater and in the communal living area there is a wood burning stove. There is hot water provided by an immersion heater. A washing machine is fitted. In the cellar there is a cave and a wood store.
